This is the specification of the Honda CB450 “Black Bomber” race bike (497cc) just sold. Built at a cost of over £20,000, the bike was a fairly unique classic racing machine and a very interesting project.

* Modified and strengthened Honda frame, welded, blasted and powder coated.
* New alloy rims front and back with Avon race tyres
* Dick Hunt magnesium fork legs with Denton engineering stainless spindle and wheel fittings
* Reground and hard chromed CB750 fork stanchions
* CB750 yokes
* New AP twin pot brake caliper
* Massive 290mm custom made vented cast iron disc cut from solid
* Surgical stainless fork top bolts
* Koni rear shocks with optional mount points on swingarm
* AR Racing shark fin
* New AP master cylinder and braided lines
* Smiths type tacho on bartel fairing bracket
* Quick action billet aluminium Japanese Takuro race twin pull throttle with custom Venhill low friction cables
* Keihin CR34 twin carbs
* Alloy race tank with large Monza cap
* CB900 fuel tap
* TGA lightweight alloy oil catch tank
* Custom footrest hangers with Tarrozi rear sets and Moriwaki gear lever peg
* Swarbrick headers and internally silenced megaphones, molten aluminium spray coated and painted matt black
* Bartel Seat, mudguard, splash guard and fairing
* Paint by Faircharm in Honda RC colours (silver/red)
* 520 chain conversion - custom rear sprockets, new chain
* Kawasaki classic steering damper, Maxton damper ring
* Fully renovated engine cases - vapour blast finish

* Nova 6-speed gear box and custom shift drum kit
